Alastair Tulloch Vetro Birthday
They say time flies when you are having fun and it seems like 2 minutes ago that we were celebrating Vetro’s 3rd birthday! On the eve of Vetro turning 4, we felt it was a good time to recap on the last year, take stock of what has happened over the last 12 months and look forward to what the next year will hold.
Firstly, we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our amazing employees, dedicated temporary workers and our clients. If it wasn't for all your hard work and dedication the last year wouldn't have been possible and as you will see it's been a magnificent year!
A year of growth
We entered 2018 with solid foundations in place and a plan to expand our services into new geographical locations to enable us to support more clients and candidates across the country. We started the year by recruiting Tom Cox as our Director of the North and opened a new office in Liverpool. This was followed by recruiting Nikki Hunt as a Manager for a new office in Southampton. We are extremely pleased with how both offices have established themselves in their local markets and it's great to see the teams up to a combined 6 employees already.
Double award winners
One of the biggest highlights in the last 12 months was our amazing evening at the South Wales Regional Awards. We were delighted to win the “Recruitment agency of the year” award, but the evening was capped off when we also won the “Overall Business of the year” award in South Wales.
New faces and new divisions
In our Caerphilly head office, we have continued to expand with the opening of our Vetro Office Support Division. This is headed up by Menna Del Jones who has over 15 years experience within the sector. This division allows us to help both new and existing clients with a variety of specialist office based vacancies. Despite the division having only been established for a few weeks she is already working with 11 clients and has found 8 people permanent jobs. Encouraging signs for the future of this division!
In our Education Division, the team have continued their rapid growth with the recruitment of their 4th head Amie who will be supporting SEND schools across South Wales. This staff growth has reflected the increase in demand for our services having successfully tendered for both the Crown Commercial contract to provide teaching staff in England and most recently the Welsh NPS tender to supply staff into Welsh schools.
The team also did incredibly well to gain the coveted REC gold accreditation. This accolade enables our schools and education providers to be confident that they are using an agency that is independently audited to the highest standards and that puts safety, compliance and safeguarding at the centre of their business.
The audit goes beyond just compliance, requiring agencies to demonstrate that they operate best practice in areas such as customer service, staff development, diversity and client management.
Nursing and Care
Our Nursing and Care Divisions are also going from strength to strength having secured large tender wins with some of the countries leading private and voluntary, learning disability, children's services’ and mental health hospitals.
In total, we now have over 200 temporary and contract workers out supporting children and adults within the community.
The Permanent Team
Finding our clients their own permanent staff remains one of the fundamental building blocks for our business and we were pleased to see that the permanent team have continued to grow and expand this year. Vetro has already found permanent employment for 266 people in the first 5 months of 2019 - an 84% increase year on year. We have now found permanent employment for 951 people since we started 4 years ago!
What you have told us
Feedback is a gift, it's what you do with it that counts!
That’s why we always want to hear what you think about Vetro, our service and how we can improve. In a recent candidate satisfaction survey sent to 350 people who we have found employment for in the last 3 months we scored;
- 98% felt they were supported through the recruitment process
- 95% said they were very satisfied or satisfied in their employment
- 89% of people said they would highly recommend Vetro to a colleague
On average we scored 8.7 out of 10 for the overall service that we provide. This is a substantial result and a credit to our hardworking and dedicated recruitment team. The results of the survey produced some very helpful feedback that we will incorporate over the next few months to ensure we improve on this again over the next year.
Charity and community work
Outside of work we have had lots of fun raising money for our nominated charity - BulliesOut. We have now raised almost £3000 for this amazing charity and we have had blood, sweat and a few tears along the way. Our team have been up Pen y Fan 5 times in a day, run numerous quiz nights, organised bake sales, competed in static bike ride competitions, been to supermarkets collecting from the generous public and even sponsored Ross to eat an entire cheesecake!
We are also very proud sponsors of Caerphilly Rugby club and are proud to be the main stadium sponsor of the “Vetro Stadium” and a sponsor of their 2019/20 1st team shirts.
Movers and shakers
To cap off this busy year, in August 2019 we will be moving into our new office. We have recently signed the lease on our new home - a 3300 sq ft office based in the heart of Caerphilly! This office will be able to support our ambitious growth plans and can accommodate up to 40 staff. It triples our interviewing capacity by giving us 6 interview rooms and allows us to accommodate large training sessions or group interview days for our clients in our training/ board room.
All in all its been a tremendous year and one we are all very proud of what we have achieved. That aside, we are more excited about what the next 12 months holds and we are determined to improve our service and scope of offering in the year to come. We look forward to providing our services to more clients and supporting more people to find their dream jobs. Our sectors undoubtedly face some challenges over the coming year but we are here to support you and believe that a collaborative approach can support our clients and candidates to achieve their objectives.
Thank you all - The Vetro Recruitment team.
