Happy Birthday to Us!
Thank you for your continued support.
Can you believe that we have just celebrated our 6th birthday here at Vetro?! 6 years supporting the education, health & social care sectors and it has been an incredible journey!
I think you will agree, the past 18 months have been challenging to say the least, so we wanted to really share our gratitude and say a HUUUUUGGGGEEEEE thank you to our dedicated agency workers, our wonderful clients, and last but not least, our amazing employees. None of what we have achieved would be possible without you! Thank you!
Every year we celebrate with a party. Last year’s party was at the peak of Covid and we had a virtual Quiz. It was fun, but it is always so much better in person. It was fantastic to all get together this year and celebrate at Caerphilly Rugby Club. We have captured some of the day’s highlights here...
Let’s recap the past year...
For everyone, the year with Covid has been challenging but we have still had plenty to celebrate! We are thrilled that in the past year we have continued to support so many people find their dream job.
279 people started their new career with a fantastic permanent job.
An incredible 220,000 hours have been worked by our agency workers across our education, health & social care sectors.
The education sector has had a turbulent year with many schools closed for half of the year. We are very thankful to those Education professionals who continued to work throughout the pandemic supporting local hubs and providing online learning for the children.
For the remainder of the year, much of the work at schools has been for long-term support, yet for those who prefer ad-hoc cover, we worked hard to ensure that these staff also obtained work.
We were also grateful that the Furlough scheme included agency workers. All of our eligible Education staff were furloughed for the full duration. We carried out a satisfaction survey and we were so proud that we were rated 9.9 out of 10 for how we managed the furlough process for our teachers and support staff.
Despite the challenging times, we have also had amazing growth across our Education division. Cassandra Summerton joined us and opened our North Wales office and due to our success across North Wales, Hannah Davies has recently joined the team. We are also delighted to have expanded our South Wales team with new recruits, Heath Johnson and Jack Hayward.
We have now been awarded the NPS Framework across all LEA’s in North Wales and South Wales, and more recently we have been awarded Neath Port Talbot LEA and Swansea LEA as we have great ambitions to move into West Wales.
Health & Social Care Team
What a year it has been for our Health & Social Care team. Firstly, we want to say thank you as we truly appreciate the dedication and resilience shown during the most difficult of times.
With the Government and the NHS moving quickly to tackle the Covid pandemic, we were on hand to support their needs. We reacted quickly to service demands by providing Covid-19 services. We supported the NHS with Nurses to care for people being discharged from hospital but too ill to go home, and we also provided Nurses for the Covid testing centres around the UK.
We are proud of our team’s ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing environments.
Despite all the challenges we still had some great successes including:
AppointedKaren Johnsonas Divisional Manager to open our nursing division in Liverpool.
Opened a new Bristol office to service the South West.
We were thrilled to be awarded two government NHS contracts to supply Nurses in England and Wales.
We gained further tier 1 contracts with many more national private hospitals across the UK.
We can now offer agency work and permanent jobs in the following areas:
NHS - RMN / RGN / RNLD / Specialist Nurses
Private Hospitals - RMN / RGN / RNLD / Support Workers
Nursing Homes - Healthcare Assistants to Management
Adult’s Residential Services - Support Workers to Management
Children’s Residential Services - Support Workers to Management
We have an amazing team in place to support our clients and job seekers with work.
Reward & Recognition
We love to reward and recognise hard work. When our clients share great feedback for our workers, or our consultants talk of their gratitude and appreciation, these workers are nominated for Worker of the Month where one worker wins £50 a month!
In addition to this, we also reward loyalty, so for every 250 hours worked in partnership with Vetro, each person receives a Golden Ticket. These Golden Tickets are accumulated to win a FANTASTIC GRAND PRIZE of £1000!!!
Last year's lucky winner was one of our RMN nurses, Mr. Harris.
Wales Fast Growth 50 Award Winners 2020! Yes! We did it again! This could not have been achieved without your continued support, so thank you for helping us with this award.
We are pleased to continue to support Bullies Out as our nominated charity. To date, we have raised £3989.83 for the charity via various activities, including a 1500 mile challenge, and a winter abseil. Thank you for your continued sponsorship. We will also be doing our next 1500 mile challenge in August so will be in touch for this soon.
We also want to take the opportunity to thankCaerphilly Rugby Club for hosting our birthday party this year, and we continue to sponsor the Club. It is great to see sports back in action. Good luck with your next season.
Our lovely Nikki Hunt, Section Manager in Southampton, had a beautiful baby and is currently enjoying her maternity leave. Meet baby Taylor…
Some Final Bits...
It is our mission to be the most recommended agency in the education, health & social care sectors and we are delighted to have 100’s of reviews scoring us at 4.9 out of 5 Stars across Facebook and Google.
We continue to adapt to changes with innovative technologies, with our latest investment in the Vetro Mobile App for Agency Workers going down a treat for availability scheduling and booking shifts.
We were successfully audited by the government's BIES department and passed with flying colours. We were also audited by the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) and achieved our Gold Accreditation. These awards give all our workers and clients confidence that we operate to the highest standards safeguarding you and the people you support.
In the same way that we started this blog, we want to conclude with our gratitude and thanks to our employees, clients, and workers, for continuing to put your trust in us at Vetro and helping us to become the business that we are today.
Working on the frontline as key workers throughout this pandemic has not been easy, but you have all done so with a positive outlook, dedication, and perseverance.
We are proud of everything that has been achieved in the past 12 months and we are already looking forward to our 7th birthday!
Thank you all so very much - the Vetro Team!
