After studying Applied Psychology at university, I decided to go into the education sector as a learning support assistant because I enjoyed working with children who have special educational needs. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of educational settings including mainstream schools, pupil referral units (PRU), and Nurture Units.
Whilst working as a Learning Support Assistants (LSA), the feedback I always got was the dedication and passion I showed when supporting the children shone through. It is this ethos that I have brought across into my career as an education recruitment consultant, I want to make sure the children are supported by the most skilled, passionate and happy educational professionals in Wales.
Whilst working as an LSA, I have carried out placements through Education recruitment agencies. I can relate to the challenges, but most importantly the positive and varied experience you can have working via an agency.
I am thrilled to be part of Vetro Education because we pride ourselves on putting the children in Education first. We visit all our schools to make sure we truly understand what the school, their staff and the children they educate need from our agency workers. This enables us to match our the right teachers and support staff based on their skills, experience and personalities.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking the dogs from Cardiff Dogs Home as I love spending time with animals. I also help fundraise for Cardiff Dogs Home most weekends at local outlets. It’s a great way to get the word out about rehoming homeless dogs in Wales. I also enjoy travelling and visiting new places, so far one of my favourite place to visit is Barcelona!
