With the COVID-19 crisis having a huge impact on the current academic year, many schools and provisions have turned their attention to preparation for next academic year and their staffing for September 2020.
Vetro Education have supported this school for the duration of this academic year with Teachers, Teaching Assistants and HLTAs. As a result the school have asked Vetro to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to take up a full time, long term role from September 2020 onwards.
Vetro Education and the school are looking for a HLTA who is enthusiastic about SEND, comfortable in a secondary aged setting with challenging behaviour and above all, passionate about making a difference to learners with social and emotional behaviour difficulties (SEBD).
Duties of the role will include:
Delivery of preplanned work to either whole classes or small groups.
Follow the school’s behaviour management policy.
Going above and beyond the minimum expectations of a temporary member of staff
Engage with pupils both in the classroom and on out-of-school activities
Working with the Senior Leadership Team, subject Teachers and Teaching Assistants to get the best out of each learner
Qualified HLTA or FE Qualified Teacher
1 year's experience in a similar role (where we can obtain a reference)
Experience of working with children in a SEND environment – Specifically EBD and challenging behaviour - ideally 3-6 months experience working in a PRU setting
Fully enhanced DBS (on the Update service) - ability to obtain a new one
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
EWC registration (School support worker/FE Teacher)
