I have a superb opportuntiy for a Psychologist to work as a Clinical Lead within a childrens autism service based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire. You will be leading the development and clinical functioning of clinical services, providing vision, strategic direction andexpert knowledge to clinicians, to key stakeholders and to the wider
multidisciplinary team.
About the role:
 To ensure best practice within the professional multi-disciplinary
team in order for the best outcome for children and families.
 To offer supervision to the discipline leads working in Caudwell
Children’s clinical services.
 To manage and work in collaboration with the discipline leads.
 Through clinical leadership and management expertise, be
responsible to the Director of Clinical Services/Registered Manager
and support discipline leads and core staff to deliver effective clinical
support and infrastructure for a high quality clinical service.
 To work in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services and the
Registered Manager to deliver quality and performance
improvements in the service, develop the service strategy and grow
the business.
 To work closely with the charity’s Executive Team in developing and
achieving the strategic goals of Caudwell Children clinical services
and participating in the business planning processes for new clinical
services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 To provide clinical leadership for the Autism Service
and ensure effective clinical and operational management in
partnership with the Director of Clinical Services and Registered
Manager.
 To improve quality and clinical outcomes through the
implementation of clinical audit and service evaluation.
 To position clinical advice and leadership at the centre of Service with the aim of increasing quality and value
throughout the service and the charity.
 In conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services, harness expertise
by engaging with a range of organisations; including, the voluntary
sector, Royal Colleges, specialist professional associations, patient
groups, community health services and social care to develop a
shared focus on improvement and alignment of purpose.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 To lead on regular multi-disciplinary clinical discussion and
supervision, reviews of clinical activities and caseloads, and in referral
and allocation processes.
 To model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating
with others to achieve the best outcomes.
 To provide effective clinical leadership to the service by working with
the Director of Clinical Services and Registered Manager and taking
responsibility for realising the clinical, operational and financial
objectives of the service.
 With the Director of Clinical Services and Registered Manager,
encourage continuous improvements in the quality, outcomes and
sustainability of the clinical service.
 To actively support the development of individuals and the team
through appraisal, personal development planning, teaching, training
and supervision.
 To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff within the team.
 To ensure compliance with all confidentiality and governance
requirements within the service.
 To adhere to professional Codes of Conduct and any other relevant
professional codes of conduct at all times.
 To ensure regular, productive and open communication with staff
who they lead.
 To promote innovation and research through leadership, promoting
data scrutiny, evidence synthesis.
 With the Registered Manager and Director of Clinical Services, jointly
take responsibility for the performance (clinical, contractual, financial
and operational) of the service and the external market factors
(demand growth, competitive position, etc.) to inform the
development of the five year strategy.

Salary:
£70,000 - £75,000 negotiable for the right clinician, 37.5 hours per week full time, extensive benefits
