Learning Coach - Further Education

Cardiff

£11.15 - £13.00 per hour

September 2020

With the COVID-19 crisis having a huge impact on the current academic year, many schools and colleges have turned their attention to preparation for next academic year and their staffing for September 2020.

Vetro Education will continue to support this Further Education College in Cardiff during the 2020-2021 academic year and as a result we are keen to recruit a number of specialist Learning Coaches to take up full time, long term roles within the Junior Apprenticeship scheme.

Up until the college closing in March, Vetro were supplying a number of Learning Coaches and Tutors into the Junior Apprenticeship scheme and these workers speak very highly of the programme and the college itself.

The Junior Apprenticeship scheme is set up to assist 15 to 16 year olds who have trouble engaging in a mainstream school environment. As well as core subjects, Maths, Science and English the learners take part in vocational subjects, Automotive, Hair and Beauty, Catering, Public Services etc. A number of the learners struggle with social and emotional mental health issues and/or challenging behaviour. Many also have engagement issues when taking part in core subjects.

Minimum requirements:

Minimum of 3 months experience of working with children in an SEND environment – experience with SEMH and challenging behaviour would be extremely beneficial.
Fully enhanced DBS (on the Update service) - ability to obtain a new one
References covering the last three years (no gaps)
EWC registration (School support worker)
Right to work in the UK

While working with Vetro Education you can expect the following:

Great rates of pay
Support from one of South Wales' leading SEND staffing providers
No payroll fees
Dedicated, education led consultants who listen to the needs of each individual
To benefit from over 100 years experience within the Education and Care sectors
Regular, specific and local work
