We have a fantastic new opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Home Manager to join a large Children's organisation that provide residential care and education throughout the West Midlands and North West. The services based in Stoke-on-Trent, work with young people with extensive, complex and enduring needs, who display high risk behaviours.

Specialist service: Challenging behaviours which may include: SHB, learning disabilities, low self esteem, social isolation, higher functioning ASD, self harm and attachment issues.

Role: Assistant Home Manager

Location: Stoke-on-Trent - ST7 postcode

Salary: £26,638

Hours: Full time, permanent role

Shift Pattern: 24 hour sleep in shifts

Please note candidates will only be considered who have an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent - Health & Socia C

In your new role as Assistant Home Manager you will be supporting the Home Manager to provide professional support, guidance and supervision to a team of residential child care practitioner and be responsible for the day to day management of the home in their absence. You will also be ensuring that the vision, values, policies and ethos of the company are promoted and adhered to.

The Person

As Assistant Home Manager you will be expected to work in the home and to support the children & young people in all aspects of their daily lives.

The successful candidates will be:

Confident in responding appropriately to challenges within a residential environment.

Patient, inspiring, caring and child-centred nature

A strong team player, confident and motivated

Resilient, able to work proactively with challenging behaviour

Understanding of the management role in providing support & guidance for the staff team.

Excellent observational skills

Problem solving and the ability to think creativity

Willing and able to provide personal care to individuals
