Job description
Do you have a desire to make a difference to the quality of someone’s life?

Are you interested in supporting people with Mental Health issues, helping them lead a more fulfilled and independent life?

We are actively seeking experienced Mental Health Support Workers to join our team working within a low secure Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Ebbw Vale. The hospital is a low secure hospital offering treatment and rehabilitation for young people aged between 13-18 in a forensic mental health care pathway. Supporting young people with mental health conditions can include those with learning disabilities, personality disorders, forensic mental health, and serious mental illness.

This service is split into two different wards and accommodates 21 beds as a whole. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high level of therapeutic care, treatment, and rehabilitation to each patient.

It’s important that the young people you care for feel safe and know that you can support them even when they are at their most distressed. The young people are made to feel at home from the very start. The service has worked extremely hard to minimise that clinical feeling that most institutes give off and make it more of a homely environment. The service focuses on community integration, working to make it safe for young people to access the community, this is done on an individualised basis.
