Residential Support Worker/Up to £26,000 / Southport

Looking for a motivated and positive individual to join as a valued team member offering individualised support to children and young people with complex learning difficulties and EBD.

  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children/young people and families
  • Working alongside other support staff and management
  • Using initiative and communication to ensure the needs of the child are met
  • Have a clear understanding of the current safeguarding and child protection principles
  • Develop positive relationships with the child/ young person
  • Participate in daily activities in the residential home, local community and specialist schools
  • Effectively deal with difficult scenarios
  • Understanding the child's individual needs and requirements 
  • Therapeutic support for child
  • OFSTED regulated support for young people
  • Supporting people with all aspects of personal care where required but always promoting as much independence as possible
  • Participate in writing care plans, guidelines and reports for the children and young people as requested by the Registered Manager
  • Provide a safe, stable and supportive environment that caters for the cultural, physical and emotional needs of the children and young people
  • Promoting the young person's independence and developing their life skills
  • To promote structure, boundaries and routines within the home
  • Work with young people on intervention strategies
  • Fulfil sleep-in duties in accordance with the agreed rota

Pay and Hours:

  • Up to £26,000
  • Basic £19,000- £20,000
  • 2 on 3 off/ 3 on 2 off
  • Full time 37-40 hours
  • Permanent position

  • Paid support worker experience
  • Experience working with children
  • Driver (desired)
  • NVQ L3 Children and Young People (desired)
