We have an EXCITING opportunity for Residential Support Workers to join a well established Children’s Residential School located in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midlands. The school provides innovative and experiential education and supports young people (6 – 19 years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full drivers licence and a car**
Location: Stourbridge, West Midlands
Salary: £20,026 - £25,642 per year (inclusive of sleep ins)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: A variety of flexible shifts, including weekends
As a Care Support Worker, you will be key in helping people with Autism and complex needs. A Care Support Worker is a challenging role, but the rewards are incomparable to any other job. As a Care Support Worker, you will be expected to work in the home and to support the children & young people in all aspects of their daily lives. Responsibilities include:
- To work as a team member in partnership with the Head of Care and Therapy, the Home Manager and Care Support Workers as well as education and therapy staff.
- To facilitate learning, care and welfare in a variety of different environments supporting waking day curriculum.
- To provide a nurturing, tidy, safe, warm and beautiful home environment which does not feel institutionalised.
- Creating a home that anyone would want to live in but yet still meets the sensory needs of each child and young person.
- To work to a planned rota which can include evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties as agreed with the Home Manager.
- To provide appropriate rhythms and routines which support the healthy development of each student.

- Previous experience in a Children’s residential setting is DESIRABLE
- Full UK manual driving licence and access to your own vehicle, this is due to the service not being accessible by public transport.
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People is preferred but not essential as there will be an opportunity to obtain the qualification on successful completion of your probationary period.
- All candidates must be of a minimum age of 22 due to the needs of the Young People.
