An exciting opportunity has become available for a Children's Residential Deputy Manager in the Reading area!

We are either looking for a committed Senior looking to progress to a Deputy Manager, or an established Deputy Manager looking for a new challenge within the social care sector.

You will hold a minimum of a level 3 in Leadership and Management or equivalent and be willing to work towards your level 5 if you do not already hold this qualification.

Along with the supporting the manager with the daily running of the young people's services, Your role will be to support and encourage young people; aged between 11-18 years old to build resilience and life skills.

The young people have attachment and development trauma. They may have also perpetrated sexually harmful behaviours.

Your duties will include:

-Supporting the young people to reach their full potential

-Ensure the safety and well being of all residents and staff

-Act as a leader to the staffing team

-Deputise in the manager's absence

- Supporting to meet the emotional and physical development needs of the young people

-Create and promote a safe and positive environment and culture within the residential units

-Provide staff training and leadership guidance

-Act as a 'go to' for motivation, creativity and guidance for staff members

- Acting as a role model to the young people

- Upholding clear and consistent boundaries for both residents and staff

This role will be based on working shift patterns totalling 150 hours per month averaging to 37.5 hours per week. This role will include sleep ins and over time duty where required. In return the client can offer a salary of £25,000- £29,999. Over time and sleep in duties are paid as additional.
