I am currently recruiting for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager for a small children’s provider in a 4 bedded home based in Nottingham(NG5). The home accommodates 4 Young People of mixed genders with complex needs.

The home is strategically placed to ensure public transport is close at hand, so young people can access the wider community and with staff support and work closely with local services.

Salary & Hours

£22,500-24,500 plus £50 p/sleep in shift (1 sleep in a week)
Permanent full time position
40 hours per week


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience of supervising professional staff.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • The successful candidate will hold or obtain the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification within 3 years of their Deputy Manager post commencing.


In the absence of the Registered Manager, take on additional duties as required, including meeting
with Ofsted or attending meetings on the Registered Manager’s behalf.
Assist the Registered Manager to ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the
needs of the children and young people being looked after and is compliant with the Children’s
Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
To contribute to the child or young person’s plan which reflects his / her care, education, social,
emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs
Assist the Registered Manager in the selection, recruitment and retention of staff as necessary.
Monitor expenditure and alert the Registered Manager in cases of any discrepancies or over expenditure.
Maintain staff routines in relation to all aspects of childcare.


Annual Leave. Entitlement for permanent staff is 20 days per year, plus Bank and Public
Pension Scheme.
