Deputy Ward Manager

Vetro have a great new full time opportunity at a clinic in Hove that provides a CAMHS Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for young people aged 12 - 18.

The service is looking to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager and the salary will be £36000 - £39000 per annum.

About The Role:

Purpose:

To co-ordinate the quality and management of nursing care, patient care and the clinical environment with 24 hour responsibility for staffing.
Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and undertake direct patient care.
To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
Manage and direct the delivery of clinical services within a ward or unit, ensuring it complies with statutory regulations, current legislation, and operational policies and meets quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:

Maintain high quality in all areas of practice including effective team working; using a range of different approaches including codes of conduct and practice, evidence-based practice, guidelines, legislation, protocols, procedures, policies, standards and systems.

To improve services in the interests of the service users, carers and the organisation informed by current best practice guidance.

Developing oneself using a variety of means and contributing to the development of others during ongoing work activities, using through structured approaches (e.g. appraisal and development review, mentoring, professional/clinical supervision) and/or informal and ad hoc methods (such as enabling people to solve arising problems and appropriate delegation).

Maintaining and promoting the health, safety and security of everyone in the organisation or anyone who comes into contact with it either directly or through the actions of the organisation.

Effectively communicating the needs and requirements of patients, carers, staff and others to
provide excellent care and service.

Requirements:

First level nurse with a valid NMC pin, with evidence of professional development, relevant skills and
knowledge.
Relevant experience in a similar environment and a proven track record of leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities:

Accept 24 hour responsibility for the hospital wards on a rotational basis within the framework of the on call structure
Provide strong and robust leadership and management in the clinical environment
Monitor the performance and conduct of staff and to take corrective action when necessary. This will include, where appropriate, involvement in the disciplinary process
Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors.
Responsibility for working within the parameters of the service budget
Ensuring the confidentiality, security and accuracy of data and information and compliance with Regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.
Maintain and evidence standards of competence as defined by the NMC, in order to remain registered.
