Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment at the Hospital in Cheadle provides a comprehensive inpatient, specialist mental health service for adults and young people. The team provides innovative, high quality care and treatment for those with challenging and complex needs, helping them recover and re-engage with the community.
Our client has vacancies in all three of our services : Young People, Adult and Eating Disorders.
The role of the HCA is to support and assist qualified staff in the assessment, planning and implementation of patient care. This includes undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well being, dignity and treatment of all patients.
Frequent interaction with patients who can be challenging is required and therefore candidates must display patience, resilience and above all a desire to provide a caring and supportive environment.
Well developed observational and listening skills are essential for monitoring the mental, emotional and physical well being of patients and the HCA must be able to record accurate information and maintain confidentiality.
The ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team are essential together with flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
Previous experience of working within a care environment would be advantageous, however, training will be given. It is important that candidates can successfully complete a mandatory training programme which includes learning physical intervention techniques for managing violence and aggression.
Rate of pay
£8.00 - £9.00 p/h
