Interim Project Manager

Location: Merthyr Tydfil + travel to North Wales and overnight stays

Hours: 30 hours per week

Contract: 3 months, with possibility of extension

Rate: £17 per hour

Interview date: Friday 12th April 2019

The successful candidate will have responsibility for effective supervision of a team based in South Wales and another in North Wales. The post holder will be expected to maintain the relationship between the integrated provisions and support services across Wales.

The Project Manager will manage, support and supervise the team in order to ensure that the service provided is efficient, effective, offers high quality and that the work has measurable outcomes. Having overall responsibility for ensuring that the service is making the best use of resources by overseeing the annual budget-setting process.

Support the team to make sure that the service is continually developing, regulating risk and management controls are applied.

Identify gaps and shortfalls in performance and, by working collaboratively with service users, staff and the Interim Assistant Director, to develop practical solutions to address them.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly as required by the needs of the service and carry out any other reasonable duties as required. This role requires a minimum of 2 whole days per week based in the South Wales office, including a minimum of 1 overnight stay per week; along with a minimum of 1 day per fortnight spent in North Wales.

Person Specification:

In order to be considered, candidates must have;

Demonstrable evidence of effective practice in social care, health care or educational settings, as an experienced practitioner and, with a minimum of 1 years' experience at middle management level within setting/s providing support to children and families.

Demonstrable evidence of effective supervision and leadership of staff, including evidence of service development.

Demonstrable evidence of auditing casework to understand risks to children, safe and defensible decision making and the overall effectiveness of casework.

Full driving license, vehicle business insurance and full access to a road worthy vehicle that conforms to legislative requirements for work purposes.
