Support Worker (Adults)
Location: Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset (TA8)
Salary: £16985 annual / £8.71 per hour + pension as well as enhanced payments for; sleep-in, on call and bank holidays.
Hours: per week based on a 24/7 shift pattern including opportunities for overtime.
The Organisation: Vetro are looking for Full-time, Permanent Support Workers to join a residential care team, who provide support to adults with autism and complex needs. Our home in Burnham-On-Sea is part of a leading learning disabilities organisation covering England and Wales. The Job: You will be a key member of the team, ensuring high standards of person-centred care which will involve supporting activities in the home and encouraged to participate fully in the local community. Developing independence and life skills, as well as supporting personal care and general household duties such as cooking and cleaning.
All we ask is that you possess good communication skills and the ability to relate well and motivate others. Due to challenging aspects of the role, emotional resilience, flexible and a calm nature is key. Coupled with a positive energy and enthusiasm to participate in extra curricular activities with residents such as trampolining, gym, swimming... to list a few of the many activities encouraged.

Services operate 24/7, so you will be required to work shifts on a rota basis, hours vary from service to service but are typically between 07:00 - 22:30 you will be notified a minimum of two weeks in advance. You will be required to work a proportion of weekends, sleeping in and on calls.
Due to operational requirements the organisation are unable to provide school hour shift patterns. Car drivers would be desirable, however if you are in a central location to Burnham-On-Sea this wouldn't be a problem.
