Male Support Worker

Are you passionate about providing excellent care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and or mental health conditions?

We are looking for both full and part time permanent, Day Support Workers OR Night Support Workers; on behalf of a leading UK charity who support autistic adults by providing support and promoting independence within easy reach of Highbridge, Somerset.

* Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

Your role as Support Worker:

You will always be working as part of team and will need to be adaptable to provide individual high quality person-centred care and support residents, to reach their maximum potential with regards to independent living skills. You will provide the residents with practical and emotional support/care, enabling them to have a fulfilled life and gain further independence.

As a support worker, you will have the opportunity to be part of inspiring care and support for the service users. You will have a confident demeanour as you support residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible.

Experience is not essential as full training for the successful candidates however you will:

- Possess good interpersonal skills

- Be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

- Want to make a positive change in people's lives

Desirable skills include:

- Experience in providing care, support or domiciliary services to adults

- Experience of working with people with learning disabilities / mental health issues

- Experience of working with and relating to people from a wide variety of backgrounds

- You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant,

Hours & Pay:

Shifts fall between the hours of 7am - 10pm & approximately 10pm - 7am for Nights.

Alternate weekends & fixed working rota.

* Car drivers desirable due to rural locations.

£8.44 per hour inc. holiday entitlement
