We are currently support a vast range of schools in the Caerphilly LEA who are looking for Teachers with experience of Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 teaching styles to support their classes on an ad hoc basis.

Location: Caerphilly

Pay rate: £100.00 - £125.00 per day

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities and Duties of a Supply Teacher

Planning lessons on occasion (or during a long-term placement)

Teaching a variety of subjects according to the curriculum and set by the class teacher

Marking and assessment of work you have completed

Leading and assisting a class in the Foundation Phase or KS2

Working effectively with Learning Support Assistants within the class

Using class resources effectively as the class teacher

Monitoring the development of individual students

Assessing skills and knowledge through tests and assignments

Communicating with parents, the LEA and administrative staff Contributing to school events

Qualifications and Skills

It is essential to have Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) if you plan to work at an LEA school as a Teacher:

There are three main ways of gaining QTS:

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP)

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

You must hold a current DBS certificate and be registered with the EWC - or be happy to take out new registrations
