We are actively seeking a College Principal to join Vetro Education, overseeing a College, located in Lancaster, with satellite sites in Barrow, Blackpool, Carlisle, and Sussex. You will lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional education and support for young people aged 18-25 with a range of physical and/or learning impairments and ASD.

Location: Lancaster and College Satellites
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £72,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Additional Benefits: Car allowance and performance-related bonus potential

About the Role:

As the College Principal, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial management across the main college site and its satellites. Your role will ensure that the College continues to provide outstanding educational outcomes while maintaining a person-centred approach to student care. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to foster growth and lead the development of a new state-of-the-art college building in Lancaster.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide dynamic leadership to staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and support services.
  • Lead and manage budgets, resources, and occupancy levels across the college and its satellites.
  • Collaborate with the Governing Body, local authorities, and key stakeholders to ensure the college meets its strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and strive for excellence in inspection ratings.
  • Develop and lead the transition to a new campus site, future-proofing the college for years to come.
  • Maintain and enhance the college's reputation with students, families, and regulatory bodies (Ofsted & CQC).

Key Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience, ideally within education or a similar sector
  • Strong background in managing large teams and complex projects
  • Understanding of educational policies, including statutory requirements for students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Experience in financial management and resource allocation
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement

Duties Will Include:

  • Lead the overall strategic and operational management of the College, ensuring educational outcomes are achieved at the highest standard.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement the college's development plans, in line with financial forecasts and the Group's strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with the Group's leadership team to ensure effective governance and the success of the college's growth and expansion projects.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and commissioners' expectations.
  • Actively engage in the marketing and promotion of the College, raising awareness of its unique offerings.
  • Champion a student-focused approach, ensuring that individual learning and development needs are met.
