Support Worker | Full Time | Permanent

Location; Chard or Axminster | Car Drivers Required

Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 (including sleep ins)

We are looking for experienced and non-experienced people to join our team. It is a challenging but rewarding job that requires enthusiasm, commitment and understanding of the difficulties and trauma young people have encountered, to give them the opportunity to make a better life.

Job Description: Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with the young people, supporting them to achieve their potential and explore new opportunities and interests. Participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital. Supporting vulnerable and complex young people who have challenging behaviour, social, emotional and learning difficulties.

As a support worker you will be involved in various activities, such as bike riding, swimming, walking etc. Enthusiasm to learn is essential and you will be paid to attend our comprehensive induction and ongoing development training programme.

We are recruiting:

  • Full time Support Workers to work 10 shifts per month including 9 sleep-ins *guaranteed one in three weekends (Sat & Sun) off.
  • Support worker to work 10 x 15 or 15.5 hour shifts a month

*It is a legal requirement that support workers are 4 years older than the children in their care. All applicants must be over 21 years old and hold a current, full driving licence.

EXPERIENCE

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is highly desirable
  • Successful applicants will ideally have some previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

HOWEVER, life experience is invaluable - if you have had to overcome challenges in your own life, you become relatable to the young people. The practical advice and support you would be able to provide from having "been there" yourself would be fantastic.
