Are you a dedicated Mental Health Nurse (RMN) who is confident in your experience within Adult Mental Health settings? Are you committed to providing life-enhancing nursing care that protects patient dignity in conjunction with their personalised care plan?

Supporting vulnerable adult patients with mental health care needs, you will have a compassionate approach and be confident in your ability to provide first class treatment to each patient in your care in an often busy environment. We are actively seeking experienced Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team at Vetro Recruitment for ongoing ad hoc agency shifts and block bookings on the Gwelfor Unit at Cefn Coed Hospital in Swansea.

Shifts: Early, Late, Long Day or Night
£22.75 to £36.98 per hour (PAYE)
£25.86 to £42.66 per hour (Umbrella - FCSA Accredited)

About the Role:

Gwelfor is a high-dependency mental health rehabilitation unit for males aged 18 and over. The overall aim of the service is to enable people with long-term mental health difficulties to acquire skills to enable them to live as independently as possible within their local community.

Rehabilitation services in SBUHB are based on the premise of recovery. Recovery is a process that enables people to build their resilience and to regain a sense of control over their life. The process of recovery calls for optimism and commitment from all concerned and is profoundly influenced by people's expectations and attitudes. There is a strong link between the recovery process and social inclusion. A key role for Gwelfor is to support people to regain their place in the communities where they live and take part in mainstream activities and opportunities which aims to maximise independence and quality of life.
The role will also include spending 1:1 time with residents but also facilitating therapeutic groups when needed.

We have ongoing, flexible shifts available with either full or part-time hours to suit your availability. We are especially interested to hear from RMNs who are compassionate, committed and have experience nursing in Older Adult Mental Health settings. You will provide therapeutic care and support to patients, providing a first class service and commitment to making a difference in the lives of these patients and their families.

Duties will include:

  • Administering medication 
  • Reviewing and planning care for patients 
  • The implementation of care and treatment plans 
  • Liaising with other professionals to deliver care to patients, including liaising with families.

Key Requirements:

  • You must be an RMN with at least 6 months relevant and recent experience
  • You must hold a valid NMC PIN 
  • Up-to-date training certificates - All Wales Passport Practical Training (Moving & Manual Handling AND Violence & Aggression Training)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • UK Resident
