Vetro Education have already had a very busy September, seeing in the first week back a huge demand for Supply Teaching staff and Teaching Assistants with experience of working 1:1. As a result, we are looking to recruit even more TAs with the background to help on going demand.

This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a number of Primary Schools in the Ystrad Mynach/Hengoed/Newbridge area supporting low ability learners achieve as well as those with ALN.

The small cluster of schools are always on the look out for new, talented staff to help in the classroom with support learners and maintaining high levels of behaviour. It would also be beneficial if the candidate has experience of providing Literacy/ Numeracy intervention or supporting learners on a 1:1 basis.

Salary: £60 - £65 per day

Location: Caerphilly, Blackwood, Ystrad Mynach, Bargoed, Newbridge

Hours: 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday

Start date: ASAP

Duties of supply staff will include:

Undertaking tasks set by the class teacher

Supporting children within the class

Building up rapport between yourself and the pupils

Show initiative all times

Managing the classroom under the direction of the class teacher

Attending staff meetings

Undertaking training to further develop your professional portfolio

Working with groups of children to enhance their learning development

Supporting children with SEN/ALN when require

To apply for this position, you will need:

Recent experience of working in a Mainstream classroom/or experience of working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting

A strong passion to enhance the development of pupils

An approachable and positive attitude

Hold relevant qualifications

Be registered with the EWC

Be confident in working with small groups and 1:1

Hold a current DBS on the update service
