I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a qualified children's support worker to join a STUNNING children's residential service as a Senior Children's Support Worker supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 who present a range of emotional, behavioural & complex interpersonal behavioural needs.
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**
We are looking for a COMMITTED and DEDICATED individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally.
Salary: £35,706- £38,946 (sleep allowance included)
Location: Bala, Gwynydd (LL23 postcode)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week plus sleeps
Rota Pattern: 2 on 4 off shift pattern

As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
- To lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
- Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members
- Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- Keeping the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Providing support for the children and young people in the home and promoting their independence and well-being.
- Maintaining a safe environment for young people.
- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or with Young People is ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People ESSENTIAL
- A Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport the children from time to time
- Ability to work the shift pattern (8am-10pm plus sleep ins)
