We have a fantastic new opportunity to join a large Children's organisation that provide residential care and education throughout the West Midlands and North West. The services based in Stoke-on-Trent, work with young people with extensive, complex and enduring needs, who display high risk behaviours.

Specialist service: Challenging behaviours which may include: SHB, learning disabilities, low self esteem, social isolation, higher functioning ASD, self harm and attachment issues.

Role: Senior Support Worker

Location: Stoke-on-Trent - ST7 & ST8 postal codes

Salary: £25,000 - £25,500 Dependent on Experience & Qualification

Hours: Full time, permanent role

Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts available with 24 hour sleep in shifts or long days

Please note candidates will only be considered who have an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or we are happy to consider candidates with NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Adults) with the opportunity to study further.

The Person

As a Senior Support Worker you will be expected to work in the home and to support the children & young people in all aspects of their daily lives.

The successful candidates will be:

Confident in responding appropriately to challenges within a residential environment.

Patient, inspiring, caring and child-centred nature

A strong team player, confident and motivated

Resilient, able to work proactively with challenging behaviour

Understanding of the management role in providing support & guidance for the staff team.

Excellent observational skills

Problem solving and the ability to think creativity

Willing and able to provide personal care to individuals
