Vetro recruitment are working with a national care provider to find Senior Support Workers to work in a number of their Residential Children's Homes, based in Leyland and Lostock Hall in Lancashire.
You will supervise a specific team and group of young people on specific shifts. You will supervise the effective implementation of learning programmes. You will also be responsible for dealing with issues and incidents on shift and support staff on to maintain effective relations with external agencies.
As a member of the residential care team you will provide residential care for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex learning needs and challenging behaviour. You will assist them with their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at School, accompanying them to take part in an activity or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.
To apply you must:
Must have or be working towards Diploma Level 3 H&SC / Children and Young People or equivalent
Skills / Experience Required
Excellent communication skills
Effective organisational capability
Great team player
Supervisory experience is desirable
Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those in support
Experience working in a childrens residential child care setting is essential
NVQ/Diploma L3 Caring for Children and Young People is desirable
