Vetro Recruitment are looking for a resilient Support Worker for a long term booking within a residential school near Hook- Hampshire. This school is home to children and young people who can no longer live at home because of their exceptional support needs.

You will be helping with the care for the young people, who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties. Many of the children also have additional problems associated with autism and epilepsy, including self-injury, aggression and disruptive behaviour.

Your role will be to assist the young people; aged 8-19 with their daily education and support needs. Each young person has a support plan to be followed throughout the day

This long term contract is initially for a 13 week period however is very likely to be extended if you and the client wish. We are able to be flexible with the length of contract if you are looking for something on a shorter term basis.

This position pays between £8.75- £9.50 per hour depending on experience

You will be working on a 2 week rolling rota averaging 37.5 hours a week.

Your role:

-Your role as a Learning Support Assistant, will be working as part of a team to ensure the children's emotional, behavioural, physical and intellectual needs are met

-Following the child's risk assessment and behaviour guidelines at all times to ensure a consistent and safe approach is followed.

-You will be supporting the children in all aspects of their everyday life to help them make their needs know

-Implementing all of the children's teaching programmes

-Supporting the teacher to ensure that the children enjoy fulfilling fun teaching and leisure activities.

-To be able to be flexible with your working rota. Day shifts are from 7.30am-10pm.

Candidates will need to be available to work on a fixed rota pattern. Roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £51 - (unless you hold a current DBS on the update service) Along with 3 years of references.
