Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for. The role is challenging but incredibly rewarding! You will be committed, passionate, and able to engage, encourage, and mentor the young people, whilst having a whole lot of fun! 

We have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a FANTASTIC Children’s Residential Service in Yeovil, supporting young people between the ages of 14-20 with Learning Disabilities, Autism and challenging behaviours. 

The service boasts a multidisciplinary team including aspects such as educational psychology, speech and language, occupational therapy and music therapy as part of the core provision underpinning individualised programmes for the Young People you will be supporting, in addition to facilities such as a therapeutic animal farm used for holistic therapies.

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full drivers licence and a car**


About the Role:
Location: Friesthorpe, Lincoln
Various shift patterns available, please see below:
Days - £20,304 to £21,055
43.5 hours per week
2 week rolling rota, 5 shifts on Week 1 and 2 shifts on Week 2

Nights - £19,873 to £20,529
38.5 hours per week
2 week rolling rota, 5 shifts on Week 1 and 2 shifts on Week 2

 
You will be joining an established and experienced care team as a Children’s Residential Support Worker. This role is offered on a full-time basis. You will receive an in-depth induction and training programme upon joining this Children’s Residential Service, and your duties will include:
  • Work in partnership with theRegistered Manager and Senior Team to promote safeguarding at all times.
  • Lead by example and contribute to the personal development of the Young People, promoting and supporting healthy lifestyle choices alongside varied and appropriate activities.
  • Lead by example and contribute positively in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events within the home and wider community.
  • This will involve regular outings and trips and on occasion, extended visits and holidays.
  • Support Young People with all aspects of personal care.
  • Communicate with in a method appropriate, e.g Makaton
  • Take pride in the provision and working alongside your team to maintain a safe, clean, fun and homely environment for our tenants.
  • Maintain accurate, clear and concise record keeping.
  • Proactively contribute to care planning and take ownership for keeping your own knowledge up to date by regularly reviewing all relevant documentation and training materials.
  • Participate in regular supervisions to aid personal development and ensure good practice in all areas.

Skills Required
Previous experience in working with young People with additional needs and challenging behaviour
Be willing to undertake personal care
Full UK manual driving licence is essential due to the location of the service
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is preferable but not essential
