Vetro Recruitment are seeking Support Workers to support Adults and Young People with Autism and Learning Disabilities

We are recruiting for Deputy Managers, Senior Support Workers, Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers to join a large Adults organisation who provide residential care and education for young people who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex learning needs. There are also opportunities withing the related childrens service.

The homes are located around Preston in Lancashire and the surrounding areas, including Southport and Fulwood There are various job vacancies available with great developmental opportunities and growth.

There are various shift patterns available for this organisation with options of full 24 hour shifts and waking nights dependent on role and location.

The Job

As a support worker in the residential care team you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives.

You will accompany the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.

The Experience

You will ideally have an NVQ in Health and Social Care and previous experience working with adults and Young People with Autism and Learning Disabilities - however we will consider applicants with 6 months experience within the care field as full training will be provided with 6 days paid Induction & Shadowing & training and there is the opportunity to complete your NVQ in Health and Social Care (Level 1 to 3) as you progress with your career.

The Salary / Benefits

As a Support Worker you will start on £8.12 - 8.33 p/h depending on location- increasing to £9.70 p/h if you are successful in gaining promotion to a Senior Support Worker

As a Support Worker you will get 33 days holiday (including bank holidays and guaranteed Contracted Hours + Paid Over Time.

Full-time, part-time and relief/bank applications considered. There is also opportunities for waking night Support Workers
