We are looking for flexible and committed mental health support workers to work  within a low secure, specialist learning disability rehabilitation service for males and females who may also have an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).  You will be working alongside a specialist team of psychiatrists, Registered Mental Health Nursers (RGN) and therapist’s so you are fully supported within your role.  

The hospital believes that the location in which the therapy takes place is just as important as the treatment itself which is why it is located in a horticultural area with spacious gardens for patients to relax in. The hospital has six newly refurbished wards all including on-suite bedrooms for each patient and comfortable lounge areas. There is also outdoor gym equipment available for patients to use as and when they want and each patient is prescribed an exercise programme to help promote a healthy lifestyle.

Job Type: Flexible on going work with block booking opportunities. 
Shifts: 12 hour Day and night shifts available 
Pay: £11.49 to £15.28 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role:
As a mental health support worker you will provide specialist care to adults (18+) and young adults (13-18) to help them acquire the skills needed to manage their mental health and live an everyday life. Your role will involve meeting with patients to assess their needs and ensure risk assessments are up to date and accurate and that company policies are adhered to at all times.

The patients participate in community group meetings whereby they will agree and plan daily and weekly activities on-site and within the community.

Community activities for the patients can include:

  • Community and outreach programmes to attend education providers and placements

Key Requirements Required:
  • Valid DBS uploaded on the update system. (DBS  forms can be purchased through our online application)
  • PMVA / TMVA / MAPA trained (Training can be provided)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Complete the company's mandatory online training courses if you do not have a current certificate for them. These are free of charge to you.
