Vetro Education North Wales currently has an opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a school-based in Wrexham.

We are looking for a teaching assistant with experience in using hoists and personal care to support a student with additional needs, based in a secondary school in Wrexham. The role would be ideal for a special needs teaching assistant, support worker, or nurse. Applicants must have restraint training ie; MAPPA, Team Teach, PRICE or similar.

***immediate start until July 2021 ***

Location: Wrexham
Job Type: Full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 am-3:30pm
Pay: £65-£70 per day

Key Requirements:
  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries, or similar
  • Experience in Special Educational Needs
  • Have an up to date certificate in restraint training
  • Have relevant certificates in hoists and manual handling
  • Experience with personal care
  • Be registered with the EWC (School Support Worker) or willing to apply
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to take one out
  • The Right to Work in the UK
Duties will include:
  • Supporting an individual student with additional needs
  • Assisting with personal care and manual handling
  • Support the class teacher
  • Support the student with classwork when required
