We are currently looking for support workers in Gosport for full and part time hours. Paying £8.21 - £9.15 / hour in a permanent role based within a supported living unit working with adults with learning difficulties.

You must be a car driver and ideally looking for between 30 and 38 hours per week, although bank hours are also available for those looking for more flexible part time hours. (you do not need to be a car driver for bank work.)

Main duties within our Support Worker vacancies:

  • Supporting clients within two supported living units based in Gosport.
  • Assisting with meal preparation
  • Supporting clients out in the community when required.
  • Assisting with Personal Care
  • Encouraging client's independence
  • Helping with general housekeeping
  • dealing with challenging behaviours

The Person

As a support worker you will be expected to work in the supported living home to support in all aspects of the daily lives of the individuals. You will be expected to carry out certain personal care duties. You may have a personal connection, a quite simply a desire to work with or real life experiences working with autistic people. You might not have lots of experience yet, but if you are willing to make a difference to the lives of autistic people, this could be the career for you!

If you are seeking full time work you must be able to commit to every other weekend work and some sleep in's as part of your rota.

The successful candidates will be:

  • Trained or willing to undertake training within behaviour support.
  • Patient, inspiring and caring
  • Confident working with those with additional needs, autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
  • Happy to undertake personal care needs with dignity of the individual
  • Resilient, able to work proactively with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent observational skills
  • Problem solving and the ability to think creativity
  • Willing and able to provide personal care to individuals
  • Individuals who value diversity, health and safety and are committed to safe working practices
  • Available for a full time role, working on a shift basis and becoming a permanent member of staff.
  • A car driver
