Our client based in Shirley, Southampton is currently seeking a full time support worker to work within their supported living unit. This job is based within one place of work and requires someone who is happy to work within the unit and out in the community. Ideally you will have experience working with adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities. This role is paying £8.25 / hour.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a care position, voluntary experience will also be considered. You ,must be happy undertaking personal care, medication prompting, dealing with all aspects of care and support and be happy to work as part of a small supportive team. If you have medication, first aid, manual handling training and experience using a hoist this would also be advantageous but not essential- as full training can be given.

This is a full time, permanent job. The shifts include a mixture of early and late shifts, (7am til 2pm, 2.30pm til 10pm) every other weekend work and one sleep in per week. This job is paying £8.25 / hour and £30 per sleep in. The job is a guaranteed 37.5 hours per week.

Job requirements:

- Being a car driver would be advantageous - the service has a pool car.
- An element of lone working required if out in the community with a service user aiding with their shopping
- Personal care, medication prompting, peg feeding, hoisting,
- Aiding in all elements of personal care and support within the supported living unit and within the community
- Experience advantageous but not essential.
- Working within a support assistance role based in Shirley


You must be flexible in your working approach to adapt to the needs of the individuals in your care; be able to assist with meal preparation, daily living tasks, medication assistance and all aspects of personal, social and emotional care. restraint training would be advantageous. You will have a willing attitude and be able to work as part of a team to encourage and support the service user in your care in order for him to lead an ordinary life in his local community.
