We are currently seeking a full time support worker for a community assisted / domiciliary care based role based in Southampton. The job involves working one to one with an individual with additional needs. You will need to be a car driver for this role and be comfortable working with an individual with autism and learning difficulties.This position is working 9am til 5pm Mondays to Friday with the occasional weekend required. This job pays £8.21 - £8.60 / hour and is a permanent full time role.

Mileage:

45p per mile - you will be paid mileage whilst out with the individual you are supporting.

Car drivers are essential for this role- business insurance is required - the cost for this will be covered if you do not already hold this.

Are you tired of having to work to stressful and pressurised time limits and not having enough time to compassionately care for your clients? Vetro recruitment are seeking A Domiciliary Care Worker for an individual in the Southampton area.

Your role will be to support 1 individual with additional needs, with day to day activities. You will be assisting the client to thrive in their everyday life by supporting them with their daily tasks and activities. You will be prompting them with their medication and hygiene requirements, supporting them into the community for activities, assisting with general household tasks such as cooking, shopping and cleaning and being a welcoming emotional support where needed.

Your approach will be person-centred with the ability to calmly manage challenging situations, demonstrate empathy with others and adapt easily to change. This post works to a shift rota pattern loosely based on 10-5pm 5 days per week, however this is subject to change depending on activities booked/ client need.(Potential of 9.30am -5.30pm for example) Shifts include the occasional weekend. Over time is also available.

Due to the physical and vulnerable nature of the people you will be assisting and the need to support individuals safely, this role can be both physically and emotionally demanding. However, our client feels that the enormous rewards and satisfaction of supporting people to achieve their goals outweigh such demands.

Experience of autism, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication and working with challenging behaviours is desirable; however, you will be provided with a superb comprehensive mandatory training programme which supports your knowledge and development of essential skills for the role.

You will also be supported in achieving the Care Certificate and Health and Social Care qualifications via apprenticeships at no cost to you. If you are looking for the chance to progress this could be the opportunity you have been looking for!
