The opportunity:

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of adults with Learning Disabilities? We are looking for passionate people to support our client in Swansea who have a home for adults with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Complex Needs.

The home currently supports 9 males and 2 females with varying levels of support needs and is split into three houses and an annexe. You will be required to work across the houses in a person-centered way and should be comfortable with loneworking. There are also varying levels of personal care and hoisting involved so you should be comfortable with both of these duties. The client is interested in supporting with additional training for anyone who is going to be working with them long term so this is a really exciting opportunity!

Not only will you be working in the most rewarding sector there is, but you'll also be in control of when you work and where you work. As well as supporting this home in Swansea, you will have the chance to work at a variety of care services across South Wales (Cardiff and the Vale, Torfaen, RCT, Blaenau Gwent, Newport and more).

Shifts available:

The home we support in Swansea generally require 12 hour days or waking nights but can also split shifts. This is similar to most residential services, although there are also sometimes sleep-in shifts available which can boost your hours and pay! We do have other services who require various shifts so it is best to get in contact about what you are looking for in particular.

Your experience:

In an ideal world, you will have at least six months experience supporting adults with complex needs. On the other hand, we also love giving people the opportunity to experience a new sector who have supported other client groups within the Social Care sector but always wanted the chance to support adults with Learning Disabilities!

The pay:

As a residential support worker, you will earn between £8.80 and £11.17. You'll be paid on a weekly basis and have the choice of earning holiday pay straight away or accruing your holiday throughout the year. Rates advertised are inclusive of umbrella rates.
