Our client, based in Swinderby offers specialist care and support for adults with Autism and Learning Difficulties. The service users are due to move into a new residential setting and need help to live as independently as possible. There are 6 service users in total.
The organisation is a long-established provider of quality education and care services to children and young adults, with reports across the board from OFSTED and CQC as good or excellent. The organisation is passionate about their residents living as fulfilled a life as possible. With access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which residents can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and speech therapy, horticulture and animal husbandry. Community presence is also very important to the organisation and they utilise all amenities available to them as part of everyday life and the running of the home. This ensures that residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer.
You will be working with adults who need support at their residential homes. This means you will support them with both personal care and life skills such as how to book a haircut or doctors appointment. Some of the service users may display challenging behaviour.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of recreational events and activities. You will also help the service users to develop life skills and grow as people.
The role will offer you the chance to build positive and supportive relationships with the young people by meeting their individual physical, emotional and behavioural needs.
To be considered for the role, you will need:
-Experience working with adults with learning difficulties/Autism or in a vulnerable situation, ideally at least a year.
-Excellent communication Skills
-To be comfortable with personal care
-To have a passion for working with and caring for people.
Salary and shift details:
Week 1 -5 days, week 2 - 2 days
£18214 - £20905
Average 43.5 hours per week
252 hours holiday allowance
Night Shifts (waking nights):
2 week rolling rota:
Week 1 -5 nights, week 2 - 2 nights
£18234 - £20567
Average 38 hours per week
216 hours holiday allowance
