Vetro are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Full Time Support Workers to join a residential care home set in the most beautiful and peaceful location within a tranquil and attractive park, on the edge of the South Gloucestershire town of Thornbury, near Bristol. The grounds are ideally suited to outdoor lessons and leisure activities. The residential home is part of a unique school promoting holistic education; supporting children and young people with complex learning difficulties including autism.
The role of Support Worker:
As a Support Worker you will ensure that children and young people are safe and receive a high standard of care. You will work as part of a supportive team, providing person-centred, helping young people with their day-to-day routines including personal care, developing their communication skills and positive behaviour. You will support a variety of leisure activities and independent living skills.
What we need from you:
Experience of working with adults or children with learning difficulties/challenging behaviour is required. However, comprehensive induction and ongoing training is provided; including QCF level 3 (all fully funded!). It is also really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours, that you are highly motivated & dedicated in approach. This will enable you to make a difference to the lives of children and young people.
Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends (one shift over the weekend period); however, they will provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your work-life balance.
Please Note: This is a full time role which doesn't offer tailored shifts / cannot accommodate part-time or school hours.
