We are currently seeking 2 support workers to work within a supported living homes based in Fareham. The job is based within a 3 bedded supported living home working with adults with learning difficulties, challenging behaviours, physical disabilities and complex needs. These jobs are paying between £8.21 and £9.15 per hour; rising to £9.60 per hour after a qualifying period of time. This is a bank support worker job which means you will be offered work on a week by week basis and can therefore work as many or as few shifts as you require. We currently have up to full time hours available each week.
You must be able to commit to either 7am til 2pm, 2.30pm til 10pm or be looking for waking nights. The start and end times are set so please only apply is the hours are suitable for you.
The specific unit is the home of one gentleman with learning difficulties and extremely challenging behaviours, along with two female service users who require personal care assistance and medication administration.
If you have in date medication administration training this would be advantageous.
This job would suit someone looking for sull time flexible hours, but would also suit someone looking for additional hours along side a second job; a student or someone looking to gain more experience within this field before starting a more full time job. As previously outlined we have over full time hours available each week so we are looking for one full time staff member and / or 2 part time support workers.
Many of our units require full time staff so this is a great way of gaining experience within a potentially new permanent place of work.
We also have waking night support hours available in the same locations should you prefer to work night shifts.
In addition to the hours outlined above we also have a number of additional roles we are seeking support workers and care assistance for - these range from full time and part time work; contracted; permanent as well as adhoc shifts. Our clients in the social care sector call weekly with hours they need covering, these vary each week and range between early, late and nights shifts. Whichever unit you work within you will be supporting adults with a variety of complex needs and will need to hold strong communication skills, be flexible in your working approach to adapt to the needs of the individuals in your care; be able to assist with meal preparation, daily living tasks, medication assistance and all aspects of personal, social and emotional care.
