Support Worker Job Description - Vetro Recruitment are currently recruiting for a number of Support Workers to support and care for Children. As a Support Worker you will join a growing support team in a residential setting offering care and support to Children and Young People who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex learning needs.

The main responsibility of the Support Worker to assist the other Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Shift Leaders, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager in providing an emotionally secure, consistent, warm, supportive and caring environment for the young people.
Currently, the service has 30 young people with plans to expand. Each individual young person is different and has varying needs.
The young people will present challenging behaviours, complex needs and there will be personal care involved, you must be comfortable with this to be considered for the role.
Support Workers will also encourage their social, physical, emotional, intellectual and moral development so that they may realise their own potential.
Support Worker pay is £18,000 + £75 per sleep.
However, if you have an NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People, you will start on a basic pay of £19,000 + £75 per sleep.
This salary is above average.
Support Worker shift patterns are on a 2 week rolling rota:
Week 1 - 4 days on (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday), 3 days off.
Week 2 - 3 days on (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), 4 days off.
Working one weekend in two.
Support is required when Children are not at school - so the hours are 2:30pm - 10:00pm during the week and 8:30am - 10:00pm during weekends and school holidays.
Doing at least 1 sleep a week is desirable, which again would be paid at an extra £75 per sleep.
If you are interested in Waking Watches - there are also full time positions for this on a shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off. Working from the hours of 10:30pm - 9:00am.

My Client is looking for Support Workers who have experience working in the care industry.
Ideally, my client looking for people with experience Supporting Children with learning disabilities and Autism, however, they would also consider people who have supported Children with EBD, Adults with Learning disabilities, Autism and Mental Health and other paid support worker experiences within care.
People with personal experience can also be considered if relevant.
