Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People Services

Location: Taunton / Wellington / Chard / Bridgwater

Salary: £22,300 per year inclusive of sleep ins.

Full Time, Permanent

Vetro Recruitment are looking for Residential Support Workers to join a leading care company with homes in and around the Somerset area. You will be supporting Young People with Challenging Behaviour and Social, Emotional Difficulties aged between 10-18.

A small but established and knowledgeable company, with a handful of lovely homes that can accommodate 10 young people. The company provide placements for young people with social and emotional difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children in a residential care setting, providing day to day support, guidance and activities to children and teenagers, aims are to transform the lives of looked-after children.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Ability to work alongside staff teams to provide a high level of care.
  • Encourage the young people to be motivated and take part activities, education and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide a safe environment for the young people in our care.
  • Ensure record keeping and administrative duties are met including care plans and all relevant paperwork is updated.
  • Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence and a car available for work use with business insurance.

Hours: 3 week rolling rota, 24-hour shifts. Shifts are 24 hour from 8am-8am.

Example of Rota:

Week 1: Mon, Weds, Sat

Week 2: Tue, Fri, Sun

Week 3: Thursday
