Teaching Assistant Jobs - 1-2-1 - ASD - TEAM TEACH TRAINING ESSENTIAL

£60 - £70 per day

As Vetro Education's relationship strengthens with this Special school in Aberdare the demand for quality, experienced SEND Teaching Assistants continues to grow.

As a result, this RCT Special school have given Vetro Education direct instruction to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can work 1-2-1 with a male pupil with ASD and challenging behaviour from September 2019 onwards. The role is for 5 days a week and set to run for the entire academic year.

PLEASE NOT THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PUPIL BEING SUPPORTED, TEAM TEACH TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE.

Teaching Assistants with experience of working in ASD environments are in high demand. As a result we are extremely keen to speak to Teaching Assistants experienced in working with pupils on the autistic spectrum who are interested in supporting the school on a long term basis.


Duties of the role will include:

Support the class teacher in the delivery of their lessons
Support the pupil on a 1-2-1 basis. Keep him engaged in his lessons and assist in his behaviour management,
Follow the school's behaviour management policy
Engage with the pupil both in the classroom and on out-of-school activities


Minimum Requirements:

3 months experience (where we can obtain a reference) of working with children in an SEND environment - Specifically ASD
Fully enhanced DBS (on the Update service) - ability to obtain a new one
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
EWC registration (School support worker)
Right to work in the UK
