Following an amazing year supporting SEND schools across South Wales, Vetro Education are looking for a number of specialist Teaching Assistants in the Vale of Glamorgan and surrounding area.
Due to the nature of the schools Vetro Education support we are searching for a number of SEND Teaching Assistants who are experienced in PMLD settings - profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Pupils at this particular provision have specific, complex needs and as a result only Teaching Assistants with experience in PMLD will be considered. Experience with British sign language, peg feeding, manual handling, visual impairment and personal care are essential.
Duties include (but not limited to):
Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
Support pupils with their learning on a 1-2-1 and small group basis
Assist with the emotional well-being of pupils
Personal care could be required
Peg feeding could be needed
Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
Engage pupils in classroom and out-of-school activities
Minimum of 3 months experience of working with children in an SEND environment - Specifically PMLD settings
Fully enhanced DBS (on the Update service) - ability to obtain a new one
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
EWC registration (School support worker)
