This role is a 5 day a week, long term role where the the successful Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1-2-1 basis with a male pupil with ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) and occasional challenging behaviour. Due to the requirement for the teaching assistant to escort the pupil to the toilet and the needs of the pupil there is a genuine occupational requirement for a Male Teaching assistant for this role.
The school itself has made huge strides forward over the past 5 years and improves year on year. A number of Vetro staff have commented on how welcoming and supportive the school's team is.
Duties of the role will include:
Support the class teacher in the delivery of their lessons
Working on a 1-2-1 basis with pupil who has ASD and challenging behaviour
Follow the school's behaviour management policy
Engage with pupils both in the classroom and on out-of-school activities
- 3 months experience (where we can obtain a reference) of working with children in a SEND environment - Specifically EBD and challenging behaviour
- Fully enhanced DBS (on the Update service) - ability to obtain a new one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- EWC registration (School support worker)
- Right to work in the UK
