Children’s Waking Nights Residential Support Worker/ Kendal/ £20,000 to £22,000

Exciting waking nights opportunity opening up for Support Workers based in and around the Kendal area. 

Working alongside other waking night support workers, and management staff, this role is perfect for individuals looking to move into a waking nights role. 


Job Role:

  • Provide high levels of support during the night hours within the residential home. 
  • Ensure that the home is cleaned and prepared for the following morning
  • Develop effective and postitive working relationships with children and other support workers.
  • Apply company safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Creating and supporting care plans 
  • Effectively communicate and interact with children 
  • Ability to work within a team 
  • Develop and support the mental health and well-being of the individual
  • Ability to effectively safeguard children and young people during the night shifts, ensuring that any incidents are reported and noted for the morning staff
  • Being able to effectively create and follow handovers from the day staff to ensure that any incidents are ressolved and followed up
  • Works collaboratively and  supportively with colleagues within the organisation and those within other organisations
  • Complete/attend mandatory training in a timely manner
  • Attend and contribute to regular supervision and annual appraisal

Pay and hours:

  • £20,043 to £22,129
  • Various shifts
  • Waking nights

Requirements:
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification or willingness to work toward one. 
  • 1 year minimum of working with children and young people
  • Up to date knowledge of  legislation and guidance in  relation to the children’s home  quality standards 
  • Understanding complex behavioural difficulties
