Children's Home Registered Manager
Therapeutic Children’s Home (SEMH)

Location: Tiverton

Salary: £52,000 basic + on-call payments

Working Pattern: 40 Hours – 9-Day Fortnight (Every other week, you get 1 day off of your choice!)

Ofsted Rating: Currently Rated "Good"

Are you a leader who believes in therapeutic care, outdoor adventure, and local expertise?

My client is seeking an ambitious Registered Manager to lead their established 3-bed SEMH home near Tiverton. This vacancy arises due to the internal promotion of the previous manager - a testament to their commitment to career progression.

With both the previous Registered Manager and Deputy recently promoted, this is a rare "blank canvas" opportunity. You will have the autonomy to recruit your own team, "put your own stamp" on the home’s culture, and lead a service that is already performing well with Ofsted.

What makes my client different?

  • The 9-Day Fortnight: They value work-life balance. You will work 9 days every two weeks, giving you an extra day off every other week. This equates to an incredible 11.4 weeks of annual leave per year!

  • Embedded Therapy: They don’t just "consult" therapists; therapy is in their DNA. From caretakers to directors, everyone is trained in therapeutic language. You will be supported by an internal team of OTs, SALT, Art, Drama, and Music therapists.

  • A "Home," Not a Placement: Every child is given a £300 budget upon arrival to decorate their room exactly how they want it.

  • Fun & Adventure: They are big on outdoor activities and want a manager who knows the local area and wants to have fun with the children.

The Package

  • Salary: £52,000 (40 hours per week).

  • Annual Leave: 57 days total (including the 9-day fortnight benefits).

  • On-Call: £40 allowance for Friday, Saturday, Sunday (FSS).

  • Sleep-ins: Additional payments if required (to be discussed at interview).

  • Progression: A proven track record of promoting managers into Senior RM and Operations roles.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager within an SEMH residential setting.

  • Local Knowledge: A manager who is active in the local community and enjoys planning "consulted" activity days with children.

  • Therapeutic Mindset: Someone ready to embrace and lead a team using therapeutic language and PACE-style approaches.

  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s Residential).

Ready to lead a home where you can truly make a difference? Apply today!

Chris at Vetro has been incredible.

I applied for a role I'd never done before, and not only did he help with my application process, but once I was offered an interview, he spent time ensuring I was sufficiently prepared. He has also made an once-a-week update meeting available to check on my onboarding process. If you're looking for work and support, I'd highly recommend Vetro Recruitment.
