An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of children's services in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The Deputy Manager role offers a chance to work within a supportive environment, helping vulnerable children and young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children in residential care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote their independence and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support children's needs.
- Lead and conduct staff supervisions, supporting team development.
- Assist the Registered Manager with audits, compliance, and other operational duties.
- Support the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
- Promote a safe environment and ensure all safeguarding procedures are adhered to.
Requirements:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
- Be willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services.
- Have at least 1 year of supervisory and shift-leading experience in a children's residential setting.
- Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and quality standards for children's homes, with the ability to support the team in achieving outstanding ratings.
- Experience in recording and reporting to safeguard children and young people effectively.
