Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home

Salary: £35,713.60 - £47,793.20 per annum
Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of children's services in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive team, helping vulnerable children and young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills in a nurturing environment. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care across multiple homes in the area, ensuring safety, compliance, and positive outcomes for service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote their independence and wellbeing
- Lead and support staff shifts, including conducting supervisions and performance reviews
- Support the Registered Manager with audits, compliance, and administrative duties
- Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning as needed
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed
- Document and maintain accurate records of all care activities and incidents
- Promote a safe, supportive environment at all times
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to support children’s needs
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory and shift-leading experience in a children’s residential setting
- Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards for children’s homes
- Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
