Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK
Salary: £35,713.60 - £47,793.20 per annum

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of children's services in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive team, helping vulnerable children and young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills in a nurturing environment. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care across multiple homes in the area, ensuring safety, compliance, and positive outcomes for service users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusting, nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote their independence and wellbeing
• Lead and support staff shifts, including conducting supervisions and performance reviews
• Support the Registered Manager with audits, compliance, and administrative duties
• Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning as needed
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed
• Document and maintain accurate records of all care activities and incidents
• Promote a safe, supportive environment at all times
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to support children’s needs

Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory and shift-leading experience in a children’s residential setting
• Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards for children’s homes
• Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
