Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs Support

In this role, you will support students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), helping them thrive academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with personal care and daily needs
- Assist in managing behavioural challenges with patience and understanding
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to implement behaviour management strategies
- Provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Support both primary and secondary students in their learning journey
Requirements:
- Genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs
- Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children or in care/education sectors
- Knowledge or experience in a PMLD or similar environment is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development
- Proactive work ethic and a patient, understanding attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good understanding of SEN and behavioural management techniques
