Job Description:
We are recruiting an Adult Learning Disability Support Worker to join a specialist service in Pontypool, supporting adults to live more independent, fulfilling lives. Key Responsibilities:
As an Adult Learning Disability Support Worker based in [Town/City], your daily duties will include:
- Delivering person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and physical/sensory impairments
- Observing, monitoring, and documenting wellbeing and progress, maintaining high standards of dignity and respect
- Supporting individuals with daily living, community access, and social inclusion, promoting independence at every stage
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, consistent support plans
- Providing appropriate assistance with personal care and daily routines, always respecting choice and autonomy
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as an Adult Learning Disability Support Worker, you will need:
- At least 6 months’ experience in a social care setting
- A caring approach with empathy, resilience, and a commitment to improving outcomes
- Enhanced DBS (ability to obtain or be on the Update Service)
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to complete required online training (free) and practical training at a subsidised cost if not already completed (e.g., Manual Handling, Buccal, PBM)
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Additional relevant certifications or specialist training
