Job Title: Learning Disability Support Worker
Location: Barry, Wales
Salary: £14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)
Job Description:

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join a dedicated team supporting adults with learning disabilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to help individuals lead more independent lives within residential, supported living, or day services. As a Learning Disability Support Worker in Barry, you will play a vital part in promoting independence, fostering personal growth, and ensuring the safety and dignity of each service user.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and attending appointments
- Promote independence and encourage development of life skills
- Build positive relationships with service users, their families, and team members
- Participate in engaging activities including walks, games, music sessions, arts & crafts, and more
- Support emotional wellbeing and help individuals achieve their personal goals
- Observe, monitor, and record residents’ conditions to ensure their safety and wellbeing
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of experience working within a social care setting
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for one
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to work above 24 hours per week
- A driver’s licence is essential for supporting residents in the community, such as attending activities or hobbies with residents using your own vehicle
