Job Description
Service Manager opportunities are available in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilled, independent lives in the community. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a supportive team and help make everyday life remarkable for the people you support.
Key Responsibilities
As a Service Manager based in Caernarfon, your daily duties will include:
- Leading the day-to-day operation of two supported living services (supporting six gentlemen with varied interests) in Caernarfon, Gwynedd.
- Providing motivational leadership, coaching and direction to a team of support workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
- Reviewing and maintaining service delivery plans, support plans, progress logs and risk assessments, using Active Support principles and relationship-centred practice.
- Managing all aspects of team performance and development, encouraging creative problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Building positive relationships with stakeholders and ensuring the service reflects organisational values and best practice.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Service Manager, you will need:
- Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
- Proven experience supporting people with learning disabilities in a social care setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and lead others effectively.
- Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, and provide cover as required.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own car (willing to obtain business insurance for work use; mileage paid at 45p per mile).
- Welsh language skills are desirable to support Welsh-speaking service users.
